Early in the pandemic, when a lot of professional athletes were stuck at home, unable to compete or at times even train, Red Bull wanted to create a film highlighting the continued strength of their community. Together with the client, I came up with a sort of ‘human chain reaction’ – an athletic Goldberg machine if you will, in which a group of athletes find their way outside one at a time. With 11 shoots in 6 different countries, all directed remotely over the course of two weeks from The Panics’ office in Amsterdam, the project was an exciting but intricate puzzle – powered by Red Bull in more ways than one!
